See the Stephen F. Austin four-point play that sent its game into OT
Stephen F. Austin did what seemed like the unthinkable with less than five seconds to go in regulation in its game against VCU: Desmond Haymon swished a three and was fouled (or at least the officials called it a foul, something that is currently being hotly debated on social media.) He made the free throw, completing an 8-2 run in the final minute.
It was a shocking turnaround: With 32 seconds left, VCU was ahead by five JeQuan Lewis missed two free throws. Haymon made a jump shot with 25.2 seconds remaining to make it within three. Briante Weber made a free throw and missed one for VCU. Then Jordan Burgess missed two, leaving VCU with a four-point lead with 10.2 seconds to go.
After tying up the game with Haymon’s four-point play, Stephen F. Austin held on to win 77-75 in overtime — yet another upset in what has been an insane NCAA tournament so far.
